What We're Up To...

Last night, to celebrate Brice's birthday (a few days early), we decided to "rough it" by camping out...in our living room...

We ordered pizza and salad to go with our Rattlesnake Red Wine and cheesy old Vincent Price horror movie (for the whole ghost story effect)...for dessert, instead of birthday cake, we had microwaved S'Mores...

It was fun watching the marshmallows grow enormous in the nuker-wave. We also had candles lit and pine tree scented incense burning for the campfire effect.

Obsidian seemed to think the tent was all hers...

while Willow was a bit unnerved about the whole thing...

But, once daddy Brice was in...

our girl soon followed suit...

It was a lot of fun! Once our movie was over, we caught Man Vs. Wild on the Discovery Channel, ya know, to learn some tips just in case anything happened while we were roughing it. Bear Grylls taught us a lot...

In the middle of the night, Devin went to the restroom and got a little lost. He almost had to eat one of Obsidian's eyeballs, ya know for protein, but lucky for her, he eventually found his way back to the tent. ;)

What We're Watchin...

Yay!! Yesterday, we caught the Sex and the City Movie...and loved it!!

The fashion, the humor, the gratuitous male nudity, the locations and, most of all, seeing Carrie, Samantha, Miranda & Charlotte all back together again!!


It was so much fun!! Of course, what's watching Sex and the City without a cocktail so Brice&Devin had to sneak in our mini bottles of liquor to go with our way overpriced sodas... ;)

Can't wait until November!!!

YAY!! It's official...Brice&Devin will be going to Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour when she stops here in Houston...so exciting...(although it did cost a small fortune). Again, though, no one puts on a show like Madonna AND it looks like we got really good seats.

What We're Up To...

Well, it's been a good few days since Brice&Devin have done a post and the reason for that is...we've been busy and we've been recuperating from last weekend's festivities...

it was a lot of fun but also not quite the relaxing weekend we had in mind.

Guess we'll have to take it slow this weekend...thankfully, it's Friday again!!

What We're Up To...

Last night, we went to see The AD Players production of The Heiress...

I (Devin) was super excited to go as I hadn't been to the theatre in quite a while (and theatre was my 1 first passion). I had also never been to an AD Players production. The set was really great. However, for the most part, the actors left little to appreciate. The one standout was the actress that played Lavinia. Otherwise, the actors were very "stagey" and not at all naturalistic. The blocking was overly contrived as well. The lead actress that played Catherine didn't seem to fit the part...she had the awkwardness down but her voice seemed too strong for this, at first, whimpering flower of a character. Hmmm, overall, a bit of a disappointment. I was excited to see that the company offers adult acting classes...I'll be looking into that in the future!!

Aaaahhhhhh!!!

Soooooo, exciting!! For the first time in 18 years, Madonna...

will be bringing her tour to Houston! Devin saw her Blonde Ambition tour back in 1990 and she hasn't been back here since. Gonna have to save up some moola for this one...her shows are expensive but well worth it!! No one puts on a show like Madonna, it's more like theatre than a concert. Can't wait!!! Hope we can get good tickets!!

The Kenyan Way...

Devin is soooo proud of Bricey, who this morning signed up for The Kenyan Way marathon bootcamp! It's a 12 week training for marathons, 3 times per week and, he has to be there at 6 a.m. twice a week...ugh!! Devin couldn't do that!

What We're Watchin...

Last night, we watched The Golden Compass...

starring Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig and Eva Green. It was a fun little fantasy movie! We really don't understand what all the brouhaha about this movie was...we really don't care what the religious persuasion, or lack thereof, of the author of the book was nor do I think one of the central messages (to question authority) is wrong. Is it so wrong to see other points of view anyway?!?! That's what life is about...experiencing all you can and taking what makes sense to you, leave the rest behind in peace. As I've said before, religion can be used for good and it can be used for evil. Believe the way you wish and leave others to do the same...

Anyways, back to the movie...look forward to the sequel and here's the trailer...

Okay, get this...Brice and Devin ordered from our favorite Chinese restaurant...as usual, the food was great. Then, Devin opens his fortune cookie...

and it says, "Your problem just got bigger. Think, what have you done?" WTF?!? What kind of shitty fortune is that?!?!? Ya know, usually, you get some lame little saying that's not even really a fortune. I get the fortune of doom! Don't know if we can ever order from there again! And, since then: my car nearly overheated & this morning I woke up with an ear-ache...what's going on???

What We're Eatin...

Yesterday, we did lunch with Lisa, Susan & Simone on the patio of Cycloe Anaya's...

near Shepherd and I-10. The food was very good, albeit a bit over-priced, and they're Perfect Margarita will give you a perfect little buzz. The best part of it, though (besides, of course, the great company & conversation), was the excellent weather to eat outside...sunny yet cool and very windy...quite a lovely day!

Berlin...

So, Devin's old friend Viet is still in Berlin and he just sent a link to this amazing video he's shot while there...

Wow, that's beautfully done!! Here's what he wrote about it:
"The Reichstag building in Berlin, Germany. Built in 1894, burnt in 1933. Afterwards used for propaganda presentations by the Nazi regime, then damaged during WWII and fell into disuse after the war. The Soviets targeted the Reichstag because of its significance and symbolism. Paul Baumgarten won a contest to rebuild it in 1961-64. It was used for occasional representative meetings and a permanent exhibition called "Fragen an die deutsche Geschichte (Questions on German history)".

In 1992, Norman Foster won the contest to reconstruct the building again. He designed the glass dome that is so iconic today. But the dome wasn't even in his original design. Crazy ain't it?

There are some scenes from the surrounding area of the Reichstag, such as the river banks and street traffic. I hope you enjoy and get a feel for this magnificent work of architecture and it's environs."

Not to mention it's still hot here in Brice&Devin land. They're supposed to bring our new external A/C unit tomorrow (THANK GOODNESS!)...they're going to have a crane here and everything to lift the sucka up on the roof!! Craziness!!
