What We're Up To...

Last night, to celebrate Brice's birthday (a few days early), we decided to "rough it" by camping out...in our living room...

We ordered pizza and salad to go with our Rattlesnake Red Wine and cheesy old Vincent Price horror movie (for the whole ghost story effect)...for dessert, instead of birthday cake, we had microwaved S'Mores...

It was fun watching the marshmallows grow enormous in the nuker-wave. We also had candles lit and pine tree scented incense burning for the campfire effect.

Obsidian seemed to think the tent was all hers...

while Willow was a bit unnerved about the whole thing...

But, once daddy Brice was in...

our girl soon followed suit...

It was a lot of fun! Once our movie was over, we caught Man Vs. Wild on the Discovery Channel, ya know, to learn some tips just in case anything happened while we were roughing it. Bear Grylls taught us a lot...

In the middle of the night, Devin went to the restroom and got a little lost. He almost had to eat one of Obsidian's eyeballs, ya know for protein, but lucky for her, he eventually found his way back to the tent. ;)

We just finished the first disc in the 3rd season of the gay "gothic" soap opera, Dante's Cove...

Brice apparently loves the show...

(which I'm sure has nothing to do with all the male nudity ;), while Devin has a hard time getting past the awful acting, ridiculous plot devices, shoddy special effects and pathetic writing.

and starring Ewan McGregor...

and Colin Farrell...

It was a really good movie with Woody Allen returning to England with a bit of the Hitchcockian flair he used in his movie Match Point. Watch the trailer for Cassandra's Dream here...

What We're Watchin...

Last night, we watched Lars and The Real Girl starring Ryan Gosling...

It's a movie about a guy who, in a delusional state, falls in love with a sex doll. The movie costars Patricia Clarkson, who is always great. Ryan Gosling really is an amazing actor as well. Wouldn't it be amazing if a whole community really came together like that to help one person? All for one and one for all. How often does that really happen? The movie was certainly different but really well done and fun to watch...here's the trailer...

This movie came out in 2001, right about the time Colin was really gaining fame...

The movie was pretty crappy, played like a bad TV movie...

So, rather than make you suffer through the trailer...

Last night we watched Elizabethtown starring Kirsten Dunst...

and the very pretty Orlando Bloom...

The movie didn't get the greatest reviews, but we really liked it. Susan Sarandon, Jessica Biel, Alec Baldwin and even Paula Dean appeared in the movie as well...it worked!

Last night we watched Come Early Morning starring Ashley Judd,

who continues to prove she couldn't act her way out of a paper bag, and the goofy cute Jeffrey Donovan...

Overall, the movie was good, not great. The scenes revolving around familial interactions in the South were so true to life it was comical. Here's the trailer...

with such a large budget and 2 leads, Nicole Kidman and the yummy Rodrigo Santoro...

(Xerxes in 300, Charlies' Angels, etc.), it's almost like the trailer for a movie you'll never see.

Last night, we watched 30 Days of Night with Josh Hartnett...

and the super creepy, Ben Foster (3:10 to Yuma, Six Feet Under, etc.) It was a really cool vampire movie based on a comic. Lots of fun, we really liked this one! Here's the trailer...
